Man Arrested for Blocking Uhuru’s Motorcade to Beg for a Job

Yes, you read right. The very same Uhuru who promised you 1,300,000 jobs per year (provided you re-elect him). But before we begin, let us recapitulate...

NAIROBI, Kenya, June 26, 2017 – President Uhuru Kenyatta has pledged to create 6.5 million jobs in his second term should he be re-elected. Speaking during a colourful ceremony at the Kasarani stadium where he launched his manifesto, President Kenyatta said employment creation is at the heart of the next Jubilee administration’s priorities.

The Jubilee Party presidential flag-bearer says he and his team plan on creating 1.3 million jobs every year while creating partnerships with county governments to establish at least one industry in every county. The President’s focus will be on the youth, through programmes that can allow them to secure and maintain good jobs that enable them to enjoy a decent life.

“Our commitment to the people of Kenya is to continue to work with all Kenyans to build on these strong foundations, to create more and better jobs, to raise the living standards of every Kenyan, reduce inequality and to lift even more Kenyans out of poverty. Together, we will ensure sustainable development and shared prosperity for all Kenyans in a prosperous, caring Kenya,” he said.

And now, our feature presentation:

A man was on Tuesday arrested after he blocked President Uhuru Kenyatta’s motorcade along State House road to beg for a job. The motorcade was headed towards State House from the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) where Uhuru had attended the 9th African Caribbean and Pacific Summit of Heads of State and Government.

Uvinalies Nyabuto obstructed the convoy while displaying a placard bearing the inscription, YOUR EXCELLENCY KINDLY OFFER A CHANCE TO JOIN THE DEFENCE FORCES AM SORRY FOR DISRESPECT YOUR SECURITY. PLEASE MR PRESIDENT. NYABUTO.

He was immediately arrested by the Presidential Escort Unit who then confiscated the placard and was later transferred to Kilimani Police Station where he was detained.
